Top 3D Monitors

CNET - In the last four weeks (as of this posting) I've reviewed four different 3D monitors. Impressive? No, not really. Especially when you consider that the last time I reviewed a 3D monitor was in early 2009. Since that time, there just hasn't been anything necessarily exciting happening in this subcategory. This year, however, things have changed.

While vendors continue to release monitors compatible with the Nvidia's 3D Vision Kit (NVK), some have begun to experiment with different ways to apply that technology. Others have eschewed it altogether.

Both Acer and Viewsonic recently announced monitors that use embedded 3D emitters. Normally, NVK-compatible monitors require a separate pyramid-shaped emitter (in addition to 3D glasses) to function; however, with these new monitors, only the glasses are necessary.

Samsung will (hopefully) soon release its premiere 3D monitors, the 950 and 750, both which utilize Samsung's own 3D technology.     More
